Matching My Kids for Christmas, and the Outfits We'll Keep
Christmas with little kids is wonderfully busy. There's getting everyone dressed, trying to take a family picture before someone spills something, and making memories in the middle of it all. My husband and I love seeing Addie and AJ dressed for the season. They don't have to wear identical outfits to look like siblings. Sometimes a shared color, a plaid pattern, or a festive little detail is all it takes.
Coordinated, with room for their personalities
I like choosing a few Christmas colors and letting each child wear them in their own way. Addie might wear a holiday dress while AJ wears a coordinating romper or sweater. Red and green are classics, but navy and plaid, cream and burgundy, or soft blue and silver can feel festive too.
If one outfit has a bold print, a simpler piece for the other child keeps everything balanced. Matching collars, bows, buttons, or accessories can tie the looks together without making them exactly alike.
And of course, the outfits need to work for the kids wearing them. Christmas means lots of moving, playing, and being held, so I want clothes that feel comfortable as well as special.
Why I look for quality pieces
I love a beautiful Christmas outfit, but I also think about whether it can be worn again or passed down. Kids grow fast, and a well-made outfit can be part of more than one Christmas.
My mom kept my holiday outfits from when I was little. Now my daughter gets to wear some of those same pieces, and it means so much to see her in something my mom saved for me. It's more than an outfit. It's a little piece of our family's story.
That's why I love quality holiday clothes that last and can be shared between siblings, cousins, or generations. When I choose a special outfit, I love knowing it might bring joy to another little one someday.
Making Christmas memories
My husband and I want Addie and AJ to enjoy Christmas in clothes that feel like them. Maybe one day we'll save a few favorite outfits for them to pass along too. Whether the kids are in matching pajamas, coordinating holiday outfits, or something from a keepsake box, the best part is the memories made while they're wearing them.
This Christmas, I'm looking forward to seeing my kids in their festive outfits, taking the family pictures, and adding another sweet moment to the story those clothes carry.
